FAQ'S
1. Q: What shoes should I wear?
A: Lace up shoes, no sandals, slip-ons or bare feet. Boots preferred.
2. Q: What pants should I wear?
A: It is best to wear loose fitting jeans, tight jeans make it difficult to mount the horse and you take a huge chance of them splitting! Uh oh!!
Also we would prefer that jeans do not have any glitter on the back pockets because the glitter damages the back of the saddles.
3. Q: Is there a weight limit?
A: Yes. 220 pounds.
4. Q: Do you offer riding programs or lessons for children and adults?
A: Yes, check out our Programs and Activities page.
5. Q: Do I need a reservation?
A: We require advanced notice. Sometimes we can schedule same day. Contact Us
6. Q: Are your horses well cared for?
A: Yes, we love our horses, and keep them for their entire life. All horses are fed a hearty meal before trail rides, and are offered water on a regular basis. They are wormed and vaccinated. To learn more about each individual horse, visit our Meet Our Horses page.
7. Q: Are the trail rides guided?
A: Yes, one of our experienced wranglers will always accompany you on your trail.
8. Q: Are helmets required?
A: Helmets are not required, but they are available for rent $3 each.
9. Q: How can I prepare for a trail ride?
A: Drink plenty of fluids; wear sunscreen and bug spray; hat (that will not blow off) and well fitting shoes or boots; no sandals, slip ons or bare feet, arrive at least 30 minutes ahead of your scheduled trail ride time.
10. Q: How old do children have to be to go on trail?
A: 7 years and older can go out on trail and ride their own horse. All children under 7 can do a 15 minute hand led pony ride. We do not ride double.
11. Q: How long is the stables open?
A: Year-round as long as the trail conditions permit.
12. Q: Are the riders allowed to move their horses around or do they have to keep them in a single file line?
A: Riders are allowed to move their horses around as long as there is room on the trail.
13. Q: Do you allow riders to ride double?
A: No. It would be uncomfortable for the riders as saddles are not made to fit two riders. Also, it would be more difficult for the riders to have complete control of their horse.
14. Q: What are we allowed to take on the trail ride?
A: We do not allow backpacks, fanny-packs, or water bottles to be taken on the trail for safety reasons. Cameras are allowed as long as it is small enough to either wrap around the horn of the saddle or put in a secure pocket. Wranglers will have water bottles in their saddlebags for your convenience. Anything strapped to your back, around your waist, or belt are not allowed because it can imbalance the rider or a strap can catch on the saddle.
